eames: architect & painter

Yesterday we went to see Eames: Architect & Painter at IFC in Manhattan where it will run until Thursday. For other play dates click here, if you can't make it to the theater or it will not be shown in your area a DVD will come out on December 1st. The documentary was produced and directed by Jason Cohn and Bill Jersey, written by Mr. Cohn and narrated by James Franco, who has such a nice and calming voice which I have never noticed before.

The film explores the life of Ray and Charles Eames and also the people behind them, it consists of interviews with former employees, critics, friends and family, archival film material, love letters, photographs and some of their films. I can highly recommend it!

  1. Hi Nina,
This sounds so great. I wish I was near Manhattan! I love the work of Ray and Charles Eames. I will look for this doc. in December. I highly recommend a documentary I saw recently on the architect Norman Foster.
It's called 'How much does your building weigh Mr. Foster'. So beautifully shot! xo
