week twenty nine

Another week has passed so quickly. I guess times flies by when you are having fun.

On Tuesday I had dinner at The Mercer Kitchen in Soho with a friend. Currently it is Restaurant Week here in New York and all participating restaurants offer 3 course prix fix lunch and/or dinner for either $24 (lunch) or $35 (dinner). It is a really good way to try out new places. On Wednesday we had the hottest day ever but it cooled down after a big thunderstorm hit, there was o much rain and hail that day. Unbelievable! Even from running two blocks to catch a subway I got soaking wet and it wasn't even raining that hard anymore. Last week we also discovered another waterfront bar with view of a marina. Oh and I had a shopping spree at Target, I haven't been to one in a while. Stopped there to kill some time and left the store with two pairs of pants (see one below) and a pair of shoes. Have you seen the collaboration between Marimekko and Converse? Love it but do I really need another pair of sneakers?

All my week was pretty eventful. How was yours?

  1. Where is the waterfront bar? It would be so nice to be close to one of those here. Unfortunately, the closest one is around an hour away

    1. The bar is in Jersey City, NJ. This one is unfortunately not really close to my house either but not as far as an hour...

  2. That picture of the string of lights against the sky is stunning, absolutely perfect. Love those patterned pants! You have the best luck finding bars with river-views. It's supposed to rain again today, hopefully not as heavy as last week!

    1. Love that picture too! This bar was shown to us by a friend and I guess now we have found pretty much all of them on our side of the river ;) We already had a little bit of rain but luckily not too much.

  3. I love waterfront bars/restaurants. We are dotted with those around here, but I'm always on the hunt for more and new and different. Most are dive-y seafood joints, and really, I don't have a problem with that! I still think all your photos of those strings of lights are my favorites!

    1. Unfortunately we don't have that many waterfront bars/restaurants but I'm glad that they are starting to pop up. It's so nice and peaceful to sit by the water. The string lights are my favorite too.

  6. Oh, The Mercer Kitchen. When I saw your photo on Instagram, it brought back so many great memories. I didn't realize that restaurant week was a nationwide thing. We've got our version of it going on here too.
I heard about your hail storm. That's some insane weather.
I love all your patterned pants! They're so fun.

    1. Yes, definitely insane weather! But at least after the rain the temperature dropped to humane levels...I just started to get into prints on pants, they just make everything happier ;)

  7. Restaurant Week sounds like a really good idea, I am not sure if London has something similar but it sounds like a great way to get people to try new restaurants! The picture of the string lights is so beautiful!

    1. Yes, you should check if London does a Restaurant Week too. It's a really great way to stray from your usual dinner places...
