getting in shape

Last week on Monday my blogging your way boot camp course started full force and of course I am already lagging behind but that is ok because it does not affect my motivation. The class is taught by Holly Becker from Decorate and she also enlisted the help of two guest teachers, Nicole Balch from Making it Lovely and Jeanette Lunde from By Fryd.

I did sign up on a whim just shortly before the class started because somewhere along the way I felt lost on what direction my blog should take or if I should just stop writing all together but honestly I enjoy writing this little blog. I hope with your help and the help of Holly, Nicole and Jeanette I will get my mojo back and finally implement the changes I wanted for my blog for a while. I definitely need a push in the right direction. For reasons unknown sometimes I thrive under pressure and now the pressure is on! Hope that my other reaction to pressure does not make an appearance because it is complete paralysis. Not that I don't have enough on my plate already with my upholstery class, planning of a bathroom remodel and life in general. Please bear with me during the "construction" phase. Looking forward to all the changes to come!

What keeps you going when you feel uninspired or just plain lazy?

Me sitting at my desk will be something that P will definitely see more often this month but right now it does not look as neat as in the photo, there is paper scattered everywhere...

  2. I totally agree with Tina and I love your post because I feel exactly the same.
I'm excited in what way our blogs will change...
Just saw a TV show yesterday about people emigrating from Germany. Must be a great experience. Hope you do much better than the ones who were presented yesterday. They tried to make money with Bratwurst ;)

    1. Thank you FrauSchmitt! Yes, moving to the US was quite an adventure but I am loving it. We briefly thought about opening a Biergarten, after we moved here because we missed our favorite one back home ;)

  3. Nothing keeps me going when I feel lazy or uninspired :) (you might have noticed from my blog) I just wait till I start to feel inspired again and eventually I will. Sometimes the more busy you are the more inspired you are, so maybe it will be good to have all things happening together. Hope you have fun both on the upholstery course and the boot camp.

    1. Leena, I often feel the same and then feel bad about being lazy which in turn makes me to not get done anything ;)

  5. Nina, now I'm feeling like I should have signed up for this round of BYW. So happy to hear that the boot camp is giving you some motivation and inspiration. When I'm feeling uninspired I try to step away and find inspiration elsewhere, unrelated to anything involving electronics. Taking a walk, reading a good book, visiting a museum, trying something new...All seem to do the trick.
Have fun in BYW...I will enjoy it vicariously through you. ;)

    1. That's a good suggestion Theresa! I have to give it a try. Sometimes I also like to revel in being uninspired and can't get out of that cycle...The class is definitely keeping me on my toes and giving me a push to make the changes already ;)

  6. Sometimes I just let the rutt run it's course because sometimes I just need to step back for a minute before trying to go forward. I do hope you are enjoying BYW and that it's giving you all of the motivation you are looking for! (great picture by the way)

  7. Go Nina go! I'm excited to see what this little kick-in-the-butt produces from you. Sometimes we just need some good motivation! Random q: are those boots you're wearing in the photo from Rocket Dog? They look really familiar to my favorite pair :)

  8. Sometimes all it takes is a kick-in-the-butt ;) The booties are by Emu, they are kind of like Uggs. I just wear them around the house because I always get cold feet...

  10. Hello dear. I think we all have these moments. Just like the surges of creative energy, there are the surges of enui, self-doubt and despair, yes? Those are less fun! Sometimes you need a pause. Sometimes a class. Sometimes the kick in the butt! I'm kind of wishing, like Theresa, that'd I'd done this class too, bit I can't kid myself. Too much other stuff. I'm really, really looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

    1. Oh, yes who likes those phases of self-doubt and lack of motivation? I am trying to ride the wave of motivation as long as I can and I know there will be other phase to come...I am looking forward to what I can/will really implement of my ideas ;)
