wednesday favorites - cups & mugs

As I mentioned before in this post I am a big fan of tea, especially now that the temperatures dropped and it is getting chillier by the day. Tea just warms me up from the inside. I have a big fat cold and have been sipping tea all day long yesterday and thought I'd share a little round up of cups/mugs I would love to sip my tea from...

What is your go to cold remedy that makes you feel better?

  1. Jäger tea :D
    Well, really, hot blackcurrant juice.
Tea makes my stomach feel empty, which I don't like.
Oh! there is a räsymatto mug, did not know.
Räsymatto means rag rug by the way.

    1. Hot blackcurrant juice sounds interesting, I should give that a try. Thanks for providing the translation for räsymatto, I thought it might mean something.

  3. A lovely selection - and I particularly like 6 & 7.

I always squeeze a fresh lemon, put boiling water on it and then add a teaspoon of manuka honey for a cold. Hope you feel better soon.

    1. Hot lemon is such a great way to boost your vitamin c intake! 6 & 7 are my favorites too!

  4. Oh no, not again Nina! Ginger tea always helps me- homemade: boil a piece of ginger root, a stick of cinnamon and for really bad colds, add a half of lime.
The Korean supermarket H Mart also sells a yummy ginger tea in a jar that comes in some sort of marmalade.
On the mugs, 4,6 & 7 for me!

    1. I think I never got rid of my cold in the first place and now it came back. Boo! Haven't had homemade ginger tea in forever, I am definitely trying this! And looking out for the stuff in a jar at H Mart.

  5. Yikes, I hope your cold (physical and in home) goes away soon. For colds, I go straight for the drugs (haha) .. tylenol / Robitussin/ etc. Then chicken soup always makes me feel better, that simple relaxed time to sip soup (yum). I hope you FEEL BETTER sooooooooooooon!

  7. I'm with Rooth, those last two are fab! Is there a handle on #6? I always go for hot tea with honey or lemon, comfy sweat pants and lots and lots of sleep! Sleep is my favorite cure :) When all else fails, marathons of tv on the couch are a suitable alternative. Hope you feel better soon!!

    1. There is no handle on #6, which makes it perfect for warming both your hands while wrapping them around the cup ;) I can never get enough sleep and totally agree with you that rest is the best cure!

  8. Nice roundup, Nina. I especially like #7. I have to go with black & white graphic.
Yep, I've caught something nasty, as well. It started as a tiny tickle in my throat last Friday night, and is now a full-blown, dry-coughing-attack cold. I sound like a seal when I cough! It's really fun at night when I'm trying to sleep. I've been drinking lots of water, sucking on Ricola non-stop, and taking NyQuil at night. You just reminded me that I should probably switch from coffee to hot water, lemon, and honey. It will soothe my agitated throat. Feel better!

    1. I hope you are feeling better! NyQuil is something I like taking for a good nights sleep as well, I usually snooze off after 20-30 minutes after taking it.

  9. I've never quite taken to tea but I am an absolute coffee fiend! The moustache mug is my favourite by far! Hope you feel better soon!

  10. I drink tea every day in the winter. Something about the act of heating up the kettle just warms me up (oh heavenly steam!). My desk is in front of a set of floor to ceiling windows, which is lovely but chilly. Because I drink at my desk I tend to use tervis tumblers with lids (scared of spilling), and I love them for the car. BUT. Not pretty. And they keep the stuff so hot that I almost always burn my tongue. So, maybe I'll ignore the safety concerns and take #3 or #6, please!

  11. i will pass this post along to a friend of mine who owns a market - she was asking me to help her find some mugs to sell in her shop, i had no luck when looking but i am loving all these ones that you found! for colds, i use hot water, with lemon, honey, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinger (just a splash of all of the above in a cup of steaming water).

  12. 4,7 and 6 are my favorites. My top tea right now is Green Tee Lemon, just awesome and the cheap label from Target tastes surprisingly best.
