week eight

Hi there! I am back from the sick and out of my bed again. Honestly I don't know what is wrong with me this winter because I seem to get one cold after the other and this time it really knocked me out. I am still not feeling a 100% yet. Maybe it was the flu? Who knows but it is good to be back! Nothing much happened last week besides sleeping, watching tv and some more sleeping. Last weekend I managed to squeeze in going to two Estate Sales, one was in my town and on Sunday I met up with Santa and we checked out one a couple of towns away. The one Santa and I went to was already picked pretty clean but I still managed to buy two pieces, a metal filing box for records and an incomplete Scrabble game, that I wanted just for the letters. Can you believe I never played Scrabble in my life? Of course I already had some fun with the letters last night. I probably was one of the few people that did not watch the Oscars. Did you watch? I will have to check out all the dresses from the red carpet today, that is always my favorite part about award shows. I am so ready for week nine to be better than week eight and also to resume my regular blogging schedule!

PS. Unfortunately this is not my bed below but you can find the how to for knitting this blanket over here.

  1. I too have been sick a lot in the past year. I changed my job year ago and I blame the new environment for my sickness. Perhaps now you just are infected more and maybe next winter you will stay healthy because you've ailed everything already. Hopefully.

I did not watch the oscars either, mainly because those came in the middle of the night here.

I'm interested in the metal filing box..

    1. Do you not like your new job? Or do you think you are just exposed to more or different germs? I really hope next winter or the rest of the year I'll stay healthy. Regarding the metal filling box, I am planning to do a post about all the estate sale treasures I found recently.

  2. I'm sick pretty much since 2013 began. At the beginning of January I had a cold and then three weeks ago I had a flu with fever and body aches and tonsillitis...and some strog side effects from the antibiotics I had to take. And I am still coughing. But enough whining...I wish I could join you and Santa on your estate sale trips!!!

I taped the Oscars and will watch it (with lots of fast-forwarding) later this week...

    1. Oh, no this doesn't sound good. I was dragging a cold for a couple of months at the end of the year and had started taking vitamins and exercised regularly to stay healthy in 2013. But it didn't help at all ;) It would be so fun if you could join us estate sale shopping but your Fleamarket/Thrift store pics on Instgram didn't look to shabby either.

  3. You're really being walloped by colds this season! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, and I'm crossing my fingers that's the last of your winter sicknesses. I can't believe you've never played scrabble! It's a fun game, but not if you play against someone who is far better than you and knows all the two letter words (like Qi and Za). I like your methods of arranging the letters though! That's way more fun :)

    1. I used to get a board game for Christmas each year, Scrabble was never one of them. Maybe we should play a round of Scrabble? I'd be loosing anyways ;) but I enjoy games that you can learn from...

  4. Gorgeous bed! We've had the sicks here too, but you've been hammered again and again this year. I'm tired of it, quite frankly, and I imagine you are too. Smart idea to play with the letters! Feel better, dear. XO

    1. I have to admit at this point I am just annoyed at being sick all the time. If one ailment stops the next is popping up. For instance now that the cold gets better my stomach is acting up from the medicine...Argh! Hope you guys are feeling better soon! xx

  5. I saw you playing with the letters on instagram already, nice! I hope you'll be feeling better this week - it's really time for spring to arrive. I think february is completely unnecessary. It should be skipped. I'll work on that. Gute Besserung!

    1. Ha, ha yes to skipping February altogether and start spring right away! I am ready for spring and summer but I know once summer rolls around I might be complaining that it is too hot ;) We get really hot and humid summers...Planning on creating a collage with the letters and put it in a shadow box fame.

    1. On one hand I want winter to end right now but on the other hand I want to go snowboarding at least one more time. I'll definitely bundle up to not get sick again...

  7. Ugh. Winter colds are the worst! I have noticed that I have picked up loads this winter and I thought it was because I started taking the tube again. Glad to hear you are feeling better. And as for that bed? I couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather be right now.

    1. I could crawls right into that bed too! I am also taking public transit every day and believe we are really exposed to all the viruses, germs, bacteria there but I try to wash my hand after and not touch my face with the dirty hands. It didn't help though ;)

    1. Doesn't this bed just invite you to jump in and curl in under the covers? I really hope this was the last cold for a while, I am so over of being sick all the time...xx

  11. PS- there were a lot more letters in that Scrabble box than I thought there would be!

    1. I thought there would be less too, even afraid I might not be able to lay out any words let alone sentences.
