My upholstery class started on Thursday and I stripped my chair down to the bones. The foam underneath was rotten in some parts and crumbled right off the frame. Next step is taking apart the fabric cover and create a pattern for the new fabric. After that I have to start sewing the pieces back together, which will probably be the hardest part for me...
Update will follow next week!
Nina, I think the chair didn't know what hit it!
ReplyDeleteEee!! I'm so excited to see how this turns out. You're doing such a good thing, rescuing that chair from its own ugliness.
ReplyDeleteNina, drink lots of water during these fighting rounds :) Show it who is boss!!! It's looking good, congrats on taking the class (something u have been wanting to do).
ReplyDeleteSanta, I think the chair didn't know what hit him when three women attacked him ;)
ReplyDeleteErin, I really hope it will look good in the end. Still not that confident in my sewing skills.
Ada, so far I really enjoy the class although I would like some more guidance from the teacher. I guess I'll just have to ask more questions.
Gorgeous bones! i love the shape if this chair! You're 1 up already!
ReplyDeleteI love the shape too! Next round is on Thursday, let's see how it will end ;)
ReplyDeleteYou and Santa are on the same upholstery class?
ReplyDeleteWell done and well chosen, the chair has lots of potential.
Yes, Santa and I are taking the same class. Tomorrow is our second class, wonder what I will get done...
