Today I have no vacation post for you but one or two more might be coming in the future.
Back in March I posted about knitted home accessories and that inspired my mom to start knitting pillow covers. First she knitted two pillow covers for my sister but used a different pattern and yarn. Because I like yellow she decided to make mine in that color. Apparently it wasn't that easy to find yarn in the bright color she had in mind. Love how they came out and the color is a nice contrast to our couch. And they are so soft too. Danke Mama!

So what nice things did your family, friends or even a stranger do for you? Or have you done anything nice for anybody lately?
Have a great weekend everybody!
Beautiful! I love gray and yellow together. And how nice to have things made by your mama! I haven't knit in ages...it's a winter-time activity for me, and this past winter wasn't nearly cold enough! Happy weekend, dear.
ReplyDeleteGray and yellow is my favorite color combination. It works great together doesn't it? Unfortunately I can't knit myself. Maybe I should give it a try sometime...Hope you had a great weekend!
DeleteThey look so comfortable! And they complement your sofa wonderfully. Wow, they look so snuggly and soft. Your mom is so talented! That's a cool project for her to take up, and fun that your blog was the inspiration! I can't imagine how long that took her to do. Have a great weekend, Nina!
ReplyDeleteThey are super comfortable but I'm trying not to fall asleep on them and then slobber all over them ;) She's a pretty fast knitter and I think it didn't take her that long.
DeleteThat was so nice of your mother and the yellow sure is cheery. Happy weekending!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend too!
DeleteOh they turned out lovely. I don't have anything to share..but I've always wanted to try paying the toll for someone behind me (EZ Pass kind of killed that idea though :-)
ReplyDeletePaying toll for the person behind you is a great idea but unfortunately not very practical as you said with having EZ Pass. It's the thought that counts ;)
DeleteLove the pillows and so amazing your mom made them. They looks really good on the gray sofa.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's so great if you have someone able to do these things for you. I can't knit at all.
DeleteYour mom is amazing! They look fantastic and I adore the colour!
ReplyDeleteI will tell my mom! She's probably blushing after all your comments ;)
DeleteLove the color combination...Great choice. The covers will now have special meaning to you because they were knitted by your mama. That's a beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's uncle loves to cook and he cooks for our big ol' family almost every weekend (no less than 15 people each time)! Not only do we get to eat yummy food, we get to spend quality time together as a family. It's a wonderful gift.
Oh, wow cooking for 15 people almost every weekend. Great way to spent time with the family. I miss being able to spent time with mine...
