week forty three

Another week has passed by. This week already marks the end of October and the beginning of November..

On Saturday Santa and I checked out another estate sale in our area and I scored two more globe lamp shades for only $5 for both of them and a small table with hairpin legs. The legs are the best part of the table and for $12 I could not pass it up. The table had two conflicting price tags one said $20 the other $25 and I asked the people working the sale if they could work on the price for me. They came down to $15 which was my target price but I couldn't resist bargaining some more so I asked if I could get the table for $12 and he said yes. Yay! Now the table sits in a corner of the basement with the rest of my projects...Hopefully I can work on it soon because I already got a couple of ideas what I could do with it...

Have a great week! Stay safe, dry and with power!

  1. I've got to check out if there is anything like those estate sales here in Finland, those sound so intriguing. Love hairpin legs on a table! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
    Cute polka dot leggings/pantyhose.

    1. Those estate sales are really fun, you probably have something similar where you live. The table top is not nice so I mainly got it for the legs, I am a big fan of hairpin legs too!

    1. Usually I am too shy to haggle but watching American Pickers really got me into the spirit. Who says TV can't be educational ;)

  3. It's official, you are the queen of estate sale bargains. Teach me all your secrets! Stay safe and dry and definitely good luck with keeping power! I'm getting nervous here, it's been raining so heavy already. :( Are you off from work today? We are, thankfully.

Great scores on Saturday - I'm thinking we may need to make Estate Sale runs once a month ...And I'm loving the polka dot tights.
    Stay safe!

    1. You're welcome! Going once a month sounds like a plan but any more days a month would probably bring on a hoarder intervention soon ;)

  5. Oh, what I wouldn't give to go to one of these estate sales with you and Santa. You always seem to find the best items at great prices. Or, maybe you and Santa can make a trip out West and we can go to the Rose Bowl Flea. You guys would be in heaven. Ok, stay safe and dry!

    1. I never made it to the Rose Bowl Flea, next time I am in the area I'll have to go. Maybe we could hit a Californian estate sale as well...So far we are still safe and dry over here. The big storm is coming our way though...

    1. Thanks for thinking about us! Besides loosing the power for several days we had no problems. Unfortunately a lot of people were not that lucky.

  8. Great bargaining! I confess, I am a chicken at bargaining for a lower price .. I do it, but tend to feel uneasy about it. Where'e the pic of the table? .. what a tease :) I went to an estate sales on Friday and drooled over such an intricate-detail steel side table but at $125 I simply stared and walked away :( Though, even if it was $25 ... I have to RESTRAIN myself from buying items that I dont have a fit for :) Hope u r safe and warm during this storm. Our electricity went out for a little bit so I cooked with flashlight last night haha, not bad at all since we have heat.

    1. I used to feel bad about bargaining but I have to say I feel a little bargainers (is that a word?) high if I get something for a lower price. Will show a photo of the table soon.
