week ten

Wow, we are already up in the double digits! How did this happen so quickly? Hope you all had a great weekend! This past week was definitely a week to knock out some projects. First I finally finished reupholstering the Saarinen chair I found in the streets of Jersey City and started working on the next chair. Saturday I finished the dresser I painted last weekend. It found its new home in P's office and now gives him more storage as well as a spot to put his record player. Because I was on a roll I also sanded and primed the bar cart I purchased at an estate sale last weekend. Hopefully I will be able to paint it next weekend. Oh, and spring did arrive after two days of snow. On Saturday and Sunday we had temperatures in the 50ies with blue skies and sunshine. Honestly this little spring teaser is making me long for the beginning of spring and summer. Working on most of my projects in the basement I did not get to work on this post until this morning, so it will be a short one...What was your weekend like?

  1. Nina, your productive DIY weekends always put me to absolute shame. London is has been freezing so I am not ashamed to admit that I did very little this weekend. Here’s hoping the cold weather goes away and both London and New York can start celebrating spring!

    1. It always looks more time consuming than it actually was but I have to admit I totally skipped out on cleaning and folding the laundry this past weekend. I guess that's how it goes ;) Here's to spring in London and New York! I am so ready!

  2. Fleißig, fleißig! Bin mal wieder beeindruckt! Hier ist jetzt wieder Schnee, neiiiiiiin, ich will nicht mehr! Mein Wochenende war vor allem laut, schokoladenverschmiert und voll. Kindergeburtstag! Ich genieße gerade die Stille in der Wohnung...
Have a nice and hopefully sunny week!

    1. I love the view of Manhattan as well! We had lunch in a place that offered the same view but the photo I took from inside didn't look as good. How do I get this much done? I skipped doing any cleaning around the house and didn't fold my laundry ;) Cleaning will have to wait until the next weekend...Have a great week too!

    1. I love the movie Monsters Inc so I couldn't pass up this mug, when we went to the Disney park in Florida. There is even a new movie coming out, hopefully soon! I have to take advantage of my current motivation to knock out as many projects, that are waiting in the basement, as possible before I get lazy again ;)

    1. It is an elevator floor. I left work and found the elevator full of Christmas tree needles one night. Somebody loved their tree so much they only threw it out in March ;) There is also a photo of the tree standing in the street. Sad little shriveled up tree...

  10. The dresser looks incredible. You deserve some sort of recognition for all the work you do restoring life to these old, beat up pieces of furniture and chairs. My weekend was great! It was in the 60s and sunny in Paris on Saturday, which really, how can I complain about??
