Hello week fourteen! Goodbye week thirteen! Can you believe we already have April now? Where did the past months go? I hope your last week was a great one and you enjoyed your Easter weekend. We certainly did! On Saturday friends flew in from Germany and because the weather was so amazing we headed straight to the city after they freshened up after their flight. We took a walk along the highline, with thousands of other people who had the same idea. Throughout the city you could see crocuses, daffodils and other flowers and trees starting to bloom. I cannot wait for the cherry tree in front of our house to be in full bloom and the beginning of Spring means that we are close to starting our backyard transformation as well. Already dreaming about hanging out on our future deck and having friends over for a bbq. On Sunday we played tour guide again and after a hearty brunch headed back to the city. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as nice as Saturday and we didn't spent much time walking around. Today our friends will be flying to San Fransisco and go on a big road trip. I wish I could sneak into their luggage and go on this trip with them.
How did you spent the week/weekend? And did you see any signs of Spring in your area? I talked to my family back in Germany and heard that Easter weekend looked more like a white Christmas.
Have a great week fourteen everybody!
Our weeping cherry is just, just starting to bust out. Barely. I can't wait either to see it in full blush. Sounds like an awesome weekend for you. Isn't it lovely to see your city with new eyes? And in the spring, no less! Have a great week, dear!
ReplyDeleteOh a walk along the Highline in warm temperatures sounds magical! Glad you had a wonderful Easter Nina - can't wait to see pictures of your cherry blossom tree!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have a cherry blossom right outside your door. Well, I'm glad you got one gorgeous day on Saturday and no snow on Sunday :-)
ReplyDeleteYour spring is so far already, looking really nice. We are not that far yet, although now snow is melting fast because of the warm sun rays.
ReplyDeleteI love cherry trees too, spotted a line of them in Manhattan today already bloomed in Peter Cooper Village today = GORGEOUS, but wish I wasn't FREEZING to enjoy it more. We took out our BBQ this weekend, but no plans on using it until we can store our coats away (warm weather) :)
ReplyDeleteCherry blossoms! That's a sure sign Spring is around the corner, right? RIght? You're so lucky to have that tree so close! Do you think your friends have room for me too in their suitcase? I've never been to San Fran but I'm dying to go. The "Love Yourself" message on that tree is so simple and yet so sweet.
ReplyDeletethe cherry blossoms on the trees in front of my house are already falling, but we still have lots in the neighborhood to admire, and magnolias too. it's like the earth is on fire with blossoms. i don't think i have ever loved spring as much as i have this year. a long road trip starting in san fran? that sounds pretty great, yes, sneak yourself aboard!
