Can you believe that the first week of 2013 is already over? My work week went by pretty quickly, as it was only three days long but the weekend felt oddly short after having two four day weekends in a row. I was still pretty productive this weekend though. On Saturday P took all the ornaments off our Christmas tree and I took off the lights, the tree moved into the front yard and will be picked up on Thursday. Everything that looks like Christmas is back in storage now, even the wreath I bought at the beginning of the week on Sale at West Elm. Already looking forward to put it back up again at the end of the year. I also installed the new recessed handles for our new barn door and painted the piece of wood behind the track.
What was your weekend like?
Now it's all back to normal again and this week will be a full week, honestly I could have gotten used to the three day work week and the four day weekends ;) Have a great week!
Can't wait to see the barn door finished!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost done and I will share some pictures soon...
Deletei like the handles! i think you need four day weekends because you still do a lot of work on your time off : ) i wish we were neighbors and i could pop over on the weekend for inspiration! my weekend was pretty slow, mostly spent cleaning up after the holidays and trying to get back in the groove of things.
ReplyDeleteOr I might need 48 hours in a day ;) If you'd be my neighbor you'd be more than welcome to pop over for a cup of tea/coffee anytime.
DeleteI’d be excited to put that wreath back up again too, it’s beautiful! I also packed the decorations away and can thankfully see the television again. Dreading having a full 5-day week though!
ReplyDeleteI am dreading the long work week too, already counting the days until the next holiday weekend ;)
DeleteI am SO ready for it to be the weekend again. I've got tons of things to do and people to see! Then again, I have all week to hit up the rest of the after-holiday sales :)
ReplyDeleteAren't after holiday sales the best? Of course your moving to a new city is stressful, hope you'll get some downtime soon.
DeleteYour first week certainly looks really productive! I want to know more about that mail slot switcheroo. West Elm always has the best sales, hands-down. Especially after the holidays, you can score so much stuff for next year for super cheap. And that wreath was such a good find! Do you think you're going to leave it white or will there be a DIY in the future for it? ;) Have a great week 2!
ReplyDeleteThe mail slot is a door handle I installed on the barn door ;) The wreath is made out of felt and it will stay white for now but your comment got me thinking, maybe I could dye some of the balls in different colors...Hope you have a good week too!
DeleteThose handles are stunners! I haven't even thought about handles, and I can't wait to read the start to finish of that door! I have an almost identical picture of my feet and pine needles, but ours are a lot less branchy and a lot more needly. Still sweeping!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't think about handles either and had used the holes from the old handles to grab the door to slide it from side to side but a jammed finger changed our (my!) mind ;) I have been discovering needles from our tree in the oddest places this week...
