week twenty five

Another week flew by. I cannot believe that we are nearing the halfway mark of this year already. Where does the time go? Thank you all for the warm welcome, it is good to be back but I am still fighting to get back into the blogging groove.

On Saturday P and I hopped on our bike to explore Liberty State Park where I wanted to take photo of the CRRNJ Terminal for my NJoy series. Since the train station is just a quick ferry ride away from Ellis Island most immigrants passing through there would continue their journey aboard one of the trains leaving that station. Unfortunately the station was closed due to the damage it sustained during Sandy. Yesterday I met the lovely Ana from Fluxi On Tour who is in town from San Francisco. First we had some breakfast at Egg and after filling up on yummy eggs and grits we hit the Renegade Craft Fair. It was way too hot for me yesterday so even though I brought my camera I was too lazy to take any photos although there were lots of great things to see. In the end we needed to rehydrate in a backyard of a cute cafe. After meeting Ana I met with P to grab dinner at one of our favorite German restaurants in NYC. This about sums up my weekend. Hope you had an equally great one! What were you guys up to?

  1. That baby shower gift is just about the cutest thing. I bet the mommy-to-be loved it (was it Santa??). You're so clever. I was up in Jersey this weekend, visiting J's parents for a bbq. This week seems to be pretty uneventful, so hopefully it will pass quickly! xo

    1. Good guess Erin! It was indeed Santa's shower gift, that's why I couldn't post it on Instagram live because otherwise she would have known. Having a bbq sounds great, we need to fire up our grill soon too.

    2. I really did love it- and so did everyone else at the shower. In fact, I'm seriously considering framing the strung socks in baby's room!

  2. i agree that packaging for baby is adorable! you are so creative in all the best ways. your weekend sounds pretty eventful. mine was not quite as exciting. but it was relaxing and it's been awhile since i have just had a guilt-free sit back and relax weekend, so in that way it was perfect. oh and we went out for gluten free crepes, so that always makes for a perfect weekend :)

  3. I cannot freaking believe that it's almost July. Did time just go on overdrive or something because I swear I missed two months back there...

    1. Me neither. Time is flying by too quickly and I am trying to slow it down at lest for the duration of summer...

  4. Well I can tell you what we didn't do: enjoy the sunshine because it rained and rained! I'm so envious that you have the sights and sounds of NY practically on your doorstep (and don't forget the amazing restaurants)!

    1. Oh, no...Rain, rain go away! That's something of my mantra since today because it is supposed to rain this weekend and friends of mine are getting married in a garden ceremony on Saturday. Sometimes the sounds of NYC are a bit overwhelming but it is great to live so close to enjoy it but being able to withdraw from it when needed.

  5. This looks like a great week! I might steal your packaging idea for the baby shower present one day if that's okay ;)
