week five

Hello everybody I am back but my mind isn't and is still in full vacation mode, that's why I decided to take the rest of the week off from the blog. I'll be back full force next week...

Last week started with a rainy Monday and in the evening I met with two lovely ladies I met in my Blogging Your Way Boot Camp Class last October. Jodi is writing Craft Your Craft and Tina writes the blog Life in Sketch. I hope we'll do this again soon!

Tuesday and Wednesday nothing much happened besides trying to finish my work at the office before heading to Florida for five days. We left during rainy weather and landed in sunny albeit somewhat chilly Tampa. Our hotel was right by the beach in St. Petersburg Beach and the beach front location gave us access to great sunsets every night. Friday we headed to Orlando to go to Disney's Hollywood Studios, after the day spent in the park I was exhausted. We saw the Muppets 3D movie, saved a rebel spy twice on the Star Tours ride, hung out with Captain Jack Sparrow, rode the Rock'n'Roller Coaster and entered the Tower of Terror twice. Too much excitement for one day ;) The other days we spent walking along the beaches or hanging out in the hammocks the hotel provided. One day we walked a total of 6 miles (about 9.6 km), on the way back I was starting to get a little cranky because my feet hurt from walking in the sand...We already got back Monday night and went right back into chilly winter mode, although I am so ready  for spring to start after getting a taste of it the past days...

Hope you all had a great weekend too! I am already looking forward to the next one ;)

  1. Oh what a wonderful mini-break for you guys! Sounds like the perfect quick getaway. We feel chained to home right now for a host of good reasons, but I'd love to get away for a bit, but I'd pick snow! Looks like you might get some this weekend, and I'm insanely jealous. XO

    1. That pink building is the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it houses the ride. It was a fun ride but I was scared at first ;)

  4. Welcome home! I love the second photo in the top row, all those beautifully colored hexagons. I'm glad you had a good time and got to escape the day-to-day for a little bit. Sometimes you just need a getaway! Tower of Terror is my favorite. Somewhere I have a picture of our whole "elevator" right before the drop, and I'm burying my head into my mom's side in absolute fear haha. Good for you for taking the rest of the week off. Have a great (early) weekend and see you back here next week! xo

    1. I definitely will! We didn't do much exploring this time and it is always good to hang out with a local to find the hidden gems...

  8. It's so cool that you can fly from the cold and rain to the sun and warmth and still be in the same country! I love that picture you took outside the plane window - hope you enjoy your week off!

    1. I love that we hopped on a plane in frigid cold and a little less than three hours later we were greeted with spring like temperatures. I wish I could do that more often...
