2 years - exterior

Thanks so much for taking this little journey down memory lane with me during the last two weeks!

Last but not least in my two year recap is our exterior. We've only managed to work on the front and the roof so far. The backyard is still concrete and ugly, it looks pretty much as it did when I posted photos last year in May but we plan to change that eventually. After we got a new roof I wanted to spruce up the front door and already had assembled the materials over the course of a couple of months. Unfortunately the existing door had completely rusted away under the kick plate and we decided to get a new one. Two months later I finished the project. I really like how a little pop of color makes such a big difference. Before the house looked kind of blah, after it looks so much friendlier and welcoming...

  1. That pop of color really does make a huge difference! So do the Neutra house numbers, which I would kill for only we have a condo so it would be a waste. One day! You're so lucky to have that cherry blossom tree in your front yard. It's so beautiful!

  3. Oh, the door, that is really very cool. The lamp is like a jam jar, I like it.

  6. Well, thank you for sharing the journey with us. You can tell a lot of hard work and love went into your home. You've done a really great job, Nina! I like how you've taken a traditional house and added your unique and modern touch to it. It just works so well together. You've made really great paint, furniture, and accessory choices. I tell you, you have a knack for this renovating/interior design stuff. :) Your fireplace makeover came out so beautiful - an amazing focal point for your living room. I bet it feels really good to look at your home and know that you had a hand in making it look so good. And, your front door! You should definitely send it to Erin for her "Like a Picture" series. :)
